About AE6/AN-1A Micro Detectors Inductive Proximity Sensor

The Micro Detectors AE6/AN-1A is a inductive proximity sensor with M8 housing, flush mountable (shielded), NPN, NO (normally open) output and 2 m cable.

An inductive proximity sensor detects metal without contact, using a high-frequency field at the sensing face. Because there are no moving parts and nothing touches the target, it outlasts mechanical limit switches in dusty, wet and high-cycle positions. Two details decide whether a given part will work in your machine: the sensing distance, which is quoted for mild steel and reduces for aluminium, brass and stainless; and whether the sensor is flush (shielded) mountable level with surrounding metal or non-flush (unshielded), which reaches further but needs a clear zone around the face.
